I am not one to enjoy the cold. I know plenty of people in Chicago that do though... and I will never understand them.
One of the saddest things I do see during the winter months are freezing cold homeless people. I have been working in the Loop of Chicago for approx. 5 years now and in those 5 years I have seen the same people on the same corners, every single day. Part of me feels bad and part of me gets frustrated. The city of Chicago is huge and there are tons of organizations out there to help people just like them. I wonder why they do not utilize them. This is a link to a listing of homeless shelters in the Chicagoland area. It hurts my heart to see these people freezing, but all I can do is donate what I can.
Is that the Red Line you're in?
