Hey starving steemist. I had some extra time today to post another project that I am working on. It is currently still in conceptual design phase. Instead of going into detail about the project, I wanted to to, as always raise an inquiry about the topic of Augmented Reality in the context of vitual visual real estate. What is it? who owns it? who controls it? and what the future to come when everything in our physical world is fully texture mapped and superimposed with artifically impregnated liquid crystaline forms.
Short Narrative:
As the decaying cities of the past disappear behind the infinite horizon of vitural space, architecture will finally discover a frontier free from the limitations of the ground. Here, there is no grid that partitions the land and it's resource into systems of ownership. There is only solids, liquid, gas and crystals , superimposed on remnants of a world long-passed: Brick and Motar. These massive interfaces between resources and technology were once completely dedicated to the extraction of the planet's most potent source of energy, Data. Forged from the seemingly endless fires of powerful social media platforms, the systems, components, and kit of parts contained within each company were all devoted to maximizing and perpetuating the control of the private data that once belonged to the soveriegn individual. However, as the world's supply of data dwindled throught the emergence of decentralized technologies. And the ever growing control of personal data became apparent. This old modus operanti was slowing rejected by the people of physical world. Now, slowing the resources of the current fiat currency is far beyond the reaches of any means of extraction, oil rigs and extraction plants are slowly became silent, floating monoliths of the old world long forgotten. Yet, within this silence, architecture begins to hear faint whispers of hope, long-forgotten within the chaos of shifting paradigms.
The dormant platforms will slip into the night and the digital world will once again be sparked as a massive machine that are open, decentralized and borderless networks that will now offer its labor to rebuilding the codependent landscapes of politics, economy, social interaction and etc. Virtual Space will once again be open, where we can drift around from node to node, exchanging and transacting freely and anonymously. This digital ocean of uncertainties posts a small glimpse into this future-world, and an uninhibited exploration of this new paradigm opening uping up before our very eyes. The Project Status:
I have modeled a few vitual spaces using 3d software called Rhinoceros3D and Maya. These digital buildings are then attached and integrated to a digital model of Los Angeles at 1to1 scale. I think this model can then used on similar platforms like VRchat , etc.
