Better quality big grain wheat should be preferred for growing wheat grass. Approximately 100 grams of wheat should be sown at a time. It would yield 4 to 6 oz. of wheat grass juice, which is sufficient per day for a healthy person.
FOLLOW THE BELOW STEPS TO OBTAIN WHEAT GRASS JUICE AT HOME:
The first step is the wheat grains should be sprouted. For sprouting, soak approximately 100 grams of heat grains in fresh water overnight. Next morning, drain the water out and wrap the wet grains in a clean and damp piece of cloth and keep this small bundle under some cover to preserve its dampness, and stimulate the process of sprouting.
Now prepare a mixture of manure and earth in the ratio of 25%:75% respectively. Fill this mixture in empty pots or cans, baskets, wooden boxes, tins, etc.
Prepare the soil bed and spread the sprouted grains evenly on the soil. Sprinkle some water on it. Now cover the grains with a thin layer of soil and again sprinkle the water.
Now wait for a weak because it takes a weak or more for wheat grass shoot to reach a height of 6 to 7 inches. Sprinkle water once in a every day.
After a week the wheat grass shoots will become mature and a second blade of grass will start growing out of the first shoot now cut the wheat grass blade carefully using a pair of scissor.
Now shred the wheat grass into small pieces before crushing it in a grinder add some quantity of water to obtain a green thin paste and to facilitate easy grinding.
Now grind the wheat grass Extract the juice out of this paste by straining in a clean piece of cloth or muslin.
The wheat grass should be taken immediately after extraction. Taking fresh juice has its own value and advantages.
KEEP IN MIND:
Water should not be sprinkled in excess as a overdose of water could spoil the grains rotten.
Flower pots, tin cans, lower halves of earthen wares, or baskets could be taken into use to grow wheat grass.
Sticky earth and soil mixed with chemical fertilizers are not advisable to be used.
Organic compost or cow-dung should be mixed in the soil for better growth of the wheat grass. Cow-dung is best manure.
Keep the pots in a shady place and be sure that it should not be over – exposed to sunshine.
The wheat grass should be cut with a pair of scissors instead of uprooting the grass.
