I, Nicole Faith Bedes, had actually gained the confidence to run for a position in the student council. Wow, I still can't believe it! Maybe it was because I realized from the lessons of my ESP teacher that I had to take the opportunity to enhance my skills in being a leader. The position that I ran for is the Grade 7 Level Representative. So, I made a speech and campaigned for a day. It was a really fun experience because I had the chance to test myself to see if I can stand in front of a lot of people that I did not know and convince them to vote for me.
Unfortunately, when the voting results came, I did not win. But I didn't cry. I didn't cry because I knew that it was okay. I have people who still support me especially my mother. I mean, it was my first time so I had a bigger chance of losing. All I had to do was to not give up and keep on trying until I succeed. My friends kept on telling me that "don't worry”, “It’s okay" "we’re still here for you" and all that stuff but to be honest, I didn't want them to pity me. All I wanted them to do is tell me that I should try again and again so that my determination could grow bigger and bigger and I would be able to focus on that even more.
All of us have second chances and in that second chance I want to be able to do better than my best. But first, I have to focus on studying because examinations will be next week hahahaha. Now that I had experienced running for this position, I believe that I had gained the confidence to run again for a position in the student council next time while doing my best with the people who loves me and supports me in everything I do. And always remind myself that, "Success in life comes when you simply refuse to give up, with goals so strong that obstacles, failure, and loss can only act as motivation".
That is it for this blog; see you in the next one.
