The casino was founded in 1926 by Spanish businessman Antonio Moreno. It quickly became a popular tourist destination and remained so for over seventy years. Tangiers Casino https://tngrscasino.com was closed in 2001 due to financial difficulties, but was reopened in 2006 as a partnership between the Tangiers City Council and the Sahara Group.
