Why you should lucid dream

in life •  7 years ago

Imagine that you are the richest person in the world. You have the perfect girl you like. You are healthy. You are happy. You do what you want, when you want, eat what you want, go where you want.

You can. In your lucid dreams. The only limitation is what you can imagine. You can do all the boring stuff from above every night, or you can have unimaginable adventures. You can have superhuman abilities. You can fly. You can teleport. You can explore the deeps of the oceans, go to the moon or explore the vast universe around us. But that is only the fun part.

You can even be productive and creative inside your lucid dreams. You can paint with your mind, or compose music and instantly be able to see the results of your creation. You can model, build, or even play mindcraft in your dream.

You can get to know yourself. Explore your subconscious mind. Your deep and hidden memories, bring them to light. Your fears. Practice skills you have in real life. Do you have stage fright? Why not exercise that in your lucid dream. Stand in front of 100 thousand people, why not even billions, dreams gives you that ability.

What are Lucid Dreams

We all dream. We all sleep. 8 hours of our day goes to waist. We all like to sleep, some more some less, but we would all want a longer day, more time. Imagine if we could stop sleeping and feel rested at the same time. Well, we can't. But there is something we can do. If you're lucky you wake up each day with dream from previous night, and it can be as if you lived another life inside that dream. Each night a new adventure. But most of us don't have that luck to remember dream every night, we hardly remember one dream every week of even a month. It doesn't have to be that way. It is something you can learn, and studies have shown that every one can dream and have lucid dreams.

What are lucid dreams?

Lucid dreams are like regular dreams, but you are aware that you are dreaming. So, you go to sleep. And suddenly you find yourself surrounded by pink elephants. You may have dream like this, you wake up and then realise you were dreaming funny pink elephants. But lucid dream means you are still in that dream, you see pink elephants and you suddenly realize that it's impossible that such a scene is real, and then you say to yourself : wait, this is a dream. Let me simplify this. Lucid dream is when you are inside the dream and there you realize you are actually dreaming. You don't wake up. Now that you realized that you are dreaming and that the world around you is just in your mind, you can control your dream. Yes, it's like virtual reality.

How to Lucid Dream

First of all, in order to have lucid dreams you must learn to have ordinary dreams. You need to be able to remember your dreams at least from time to time, but it would be awesome if you could remember at least one dream every day/night. On average in 8 hour sleep we have between 5 and 7 dreams. Some of those dreams are full blown awesome adventures while others are just bits and pieces, images, sounds... You can even wake up with just a faint feeling.

What I can tell you from my experience is that it is absolutely possible to wake up with more than 5 full separate dreams, even lucid dreams. Yes, you read that correctly, you can have 5 and more lucid dreams in one night. And you will. Of course you need to take some effort, I won't lie to you. Lucid dreaming isn't something you can learn in one day. But trust me, it will be worth the effort. In this series of articles I will be talking about everything you need to know about lucid dreaming. I'll start of with what are lucid dreams, why should you do it, how to do it, and i will share advanced techniques on how to lucid dream and what to do once you can lucid dream regularly.
