White Christmas at Last

in life •  7 years ago

It's been years since my husband and I have had a white Christmas.

Sure, I've seen the weather reports and advisories over the last several days, but the last several years they've never resulted in anything more than balls off cold and ice -- no snow.

Naturally, I didn't exactly take the snow part of the forecasts seriously. Even outside of Christmas, there's been a disappointing lack of snow over the last several years.

So in the early morning hours when my multiple weather apps notified me that it was snowing, I had a hard time believing it. They said it had just started lightly snowing. I told my husband. He seemed as skeptical as I was.

My husband went and opened the front door to look for himself, and next thing I know, I'm getting hit with a handful of freezing cold snow! It hadn't just started snowing, it had been snowing for a while and it was sticking!

We decided to have some fun and throw Comet outside in the snow. Don't worry, he goes outside with us often, and my husband went outside with him. Turns out that Comet really loves snow!

Hope you enjoyed the dusting! We had 10 minutes of snow so a brief white Christmas! Hope you are doing well and had a good holiday with the fur babies.

It's been balls off cold and there's been a lot of drinking involved. (A lot of drinking for us, which is a moderate/responsible amount of drinking.)

There's also been a cat in a skillet. I need to post the picture.

I love my Christmas rabbit! ♡

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!

We are still dreaming of a white Christmas and wishing for a hippopotamus to turn up on the doorstep. Really chuffed for you, that's beautiful.

So, I don't know if your girls are still awake or not, but here in the US, NORAD tracks Santa all over the world, and I'm sure you could use a feed from the year before if necessary to make up the time difference. (I think they actually start tracking at the right time all over the world, but I could be wrong.)

You could also probably play the broadcast on Christmas Day, the girls may be amused to watch Santa's journey from the night before.

NORAD has a lot of fun tracking Santa in the US. It's actually become somewhat of a rather important tradition here.

How strange! We're wishing for a hippopotamus as well! :D

We'll have to trade pics if we get them! Hopefully we don't get crocodiles or rhinoceroses. I mean, only a hippopotamus will do, am I right?

Btw, @gas.station.cat and I drank and watched an awful movie while eating comfort food last night to unwind after dealing with the cesspool.

Just wanted to let you know that my plan to drink was successful. And not excessive.

Thank you again for chatting with me last night. I really needed it. ♡

A very nice image :) upvote and following :)
