One is without a doubt familiar with artificial intelligence, a prominent sci-fi/horror motif in Hollywood. From Terminator to Blade Runner, to Cleopatra 2525, there are mixed feelings regarding this evolutionary branch in human intelligence.
Companies like Hanson Robotics have created "Sophia," the first ai to be recognized as a Saudi citizen, the first robot to become a citizen anywhere in the world.
Fascinating, that what was science fiction back in the day is now come manifest. Hanson Robotics, creator of Sohpia, have also released an Einstein robot designed to engage, entertain and educate people. It's a mini Einstein with human-like features, human-like reactions and an Einstein-esque personality. In the teaser, the team describes their goal as humanizing robots and providing friendship.
Equally fascinating is the vast megaverse within the human mind. There was a news story some time ago about a woman who could diagnose people. She had no medical training, she simply had an insight into the human aura. Imagine the world that exists possibly if people tapped into this power. Perhaps ancient human feats like levitation could be attained on a global scale. Perhaps people could increase their tolerance to pain or tap into super-strength, and x-men like powers.
But as one may recall, it is the winners who write history, the mass who enact it. With an over flow of Artificial intelligence seeping out of Hollywood and mainstream media, is it likely for another future to exist? A future where humans with x-men like abilities form every day life. Aside from the immediate fun of flying or shape shifting, there are many practical applications. If people were able to master levitation, then master flight, think of how airplanes and jet fuel would become obsolete.
It would take a massive adoption for the planetary focus to shift to human development instead of robotic. People would need to believe in the benefits, understand a method of adoption, strong and powerful companies would need to admit defeat.
A whitepaper would need to be dropped with a practical plan.
Do you believe developing artificial intelligence will benefit human kind more than developing the human mind? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
