The Content Revolution
As highlighted in my last post two months ago, I had a hunch regarding content creators, censorship, and the overall care that mainstream platforms had for creators , and I was right. As we saw, popular YouTubers Alex Jones and AVI were both removed from the platform, although AVI was able to recover his channel, Alex Jones still hasn't been revived.
Look, I understand Alex Jones and Infowars were posting some very controversial content, whether it be the conspiracy theories regarding Sandy Hook or how the government was putting chemicals in the water, to turn the frogs... gay. I know, he posted some very outlandish stuff, and although I never was a huge fan, I still supported him as a creator, and free speech and all of that. I love a great conspiracy time to time, but he did take it too far, and that's what I wanted to ask you, the readers.
How far is too far?
You need to understand that while there is free speech, there is also hate speech. I believe taking down his channel was the right thing to do, because not only did he say disgusting things targeted toward people, but he also incited violence. This man even violated YouTube's terms of service on multiple occasions, and people are STILL acting surprised that he got taken down.
I want to know your opinion on the whole situation. Do you believe he should've been taken down, or am I just "censoring" him like some people say these platforms are? Let me know, and thanks again for reading!
