Moments

in life •  8 years ago

It would have to be something serious to get me to the mall on a Sunday afternoon, and an end of the month Sunday at that!

  • I loathe malls
  • I loathe shopping
  • I loathe crowds

But I love my daughter who is experiencing a few personal problems and I decided she needed to get out of the house. We did a little desultory shopping without actually buying anything but a few boring groceries and we printed out some pamphlets, which at least was a chore that needed to get done.

When we had both had enough, which didn't take very long, we stopped by the food court. I was about to console myself with cheesy chips. (french fries). Of course, being month end we sat and waited....and waited.

Then a toddler, about 18 months old, made a beeline for my sad daughter and presented her with a "I love you" balloon. She didn't take it, as he had been running around playing with it for quite a while and obviously loved it as only a toddler could.

We continued to watch him play. He did not present his special balloon to any other person at the crowded food court. Young children still have the ability to sense pure energy. My daughter definitely has something that draws people to her, and this little boy was attracted to this and the fact she needed a little boost. It is these special moments which provide us with quality of life. Live in the now and seize those moments, sometimes it is all we have to hold on to.

Hope your Daughter is OK? I have the same feelings about shopping centres, A necessary Evil.

I wish we had online shopping in our town. My daughter is not ok :(

Sorry to hear that.
I assume something to do with a descriptive word that starts with Fi and ends with ce?
If so better to find out early.
