Utilizing a pair of snowshoes and a portable DJI Mavic Pro drone, P107 pilots for the independent OpenEarth Nature Video Repository are now utilizing the STEEM ecosystem for media content. This video was filmed in Chugach National Forest, Alaska, along the glaciated benches of a black spruce forest on a cold winter's day in April, 2018.
Originally interested in the po.et network due to the use of blockchain to prove original content authorship, OpenEarth was attracted to the STEEM platform due to its open nature (it already works and anybody can join it) and potential. Time remains to be seen if the platform has the kind of longevity that YouTube and Vimeo have, or if the flaws in gaming viewership and votes can be overcome in ways that large corporations like Google and Facebook have been unable to implement.
