Simple Ways on How to Let Go and Free Yourself

in life •  3 years ago

As soon as people start thinking about living for today, they start to think about how to make things better in the future. People who live in the now focus on things that happen right away and can be seen right away. While living for today might seem like a big withdrawal from your bank account, it can also be seen as a small deposit. How much money you can take out of your bank account will be based on your future goals. As long as you live in the moment, the long-term benefits will be clear.

Ask yourself, "What does today mean to me?" I live today by doing what is right no matter how popular or normal it might be. This is part of living in the now. Instead of watching TV at my desk, I started listening to Christian music and praying instead of watching TV. Doing what is right, even if it is hard, will keep me in line with God's rules and give me long-term happiness.

Next, living for today means giving up alcohol, narcotics, and any other stimulants that take away from my body's physical and spiritual strength. Nothing is worse than having a drug addiction that stops my body and mind from getting the nutrition they need to work properly. Because when the stimulant's effects wear off, my brain cells go back to working normally, and the momentary high I feel fades away into a thick fog. There is nothing worse than having to rely on stimulants to get through the day. When I live for today, I don't have any social batteries I can use to get back up and going again.

It also means giving up all of my earthly possessions so that when I die, my loved ones don't have to worry that I won't leave them. A lot of people make the mistake of accumulating things from this world so that when they die, they will have something of value. This only leaves their family in a bad situation. They won't have to worry about how I got by or if they will be able to enjoy the gifts they gave me when I die, because they will still be alive. If you don't want to waste your time holding on to nothing, you should let go of it.

Today, I have to make time for the people I care about. It's because God has given me each person to spend time with and knows what I want and don't want. I give them all of my time. My only desire in the end is that my friends be happy and know that they have found someone who loves them no matter what they do or say.

Living in the moment also means letting go of any ideas of "more" or "less" that might be making me do things I don't want to do. It means that I have to let myself be completely open to what God wants me to do for a good cause. Make room for things God wants me to learn and grow in. It won't happen tomorrow for me to become a better person. I'm not perfect. That said, I can control how much "I" put into my life, and that is how I will always be happy.
