DEAR JANUARY

in life •  7 years ago

Ok let me start this way. i wonder why this time of the year is always like this for most people.people complaining about less or no fund to carry out what they want to do. parents are faced with children's school fees, others are faced with payment of rent and mortgages, could it be because they spent too much during the Christmas holidays or they do not have enough to spend.
There is this saying that January is" 60 days" meaning its very slow and is assumed to be the longest month of the year especially for salary earners. business men and women are also affected too because sales usually drop during this time of the year because most people are trying to recover from the excess holiday spending .

According to ruby Leo " in the beginning of every new year, the month of January, though pregnant with expectations, comes with a lot of apprehension mainly premised on the myth that it is the hardest and longest month of the year in terms of managing finances.

Many people therefore approach the month with mixed feelings; some prepared to confront whatever challenges come their way, and others throwing themselves at the mercy of the month.
i said to my self that if we can plan our finance, the way we spend during the holiday season and also for the new year,we will not be having issues with the month of January.
A friend of mine who earns a salary of 30,000 Naira(Nigerian currency) bought a human hair wig which costs 60,000 Naira just to show off during the holiday season came to beg me to lend her 5,000 Naira yesterday because she needs the money to support her transport fair for the month .
lets try to spend wisely and also save for contingency that may arise in the future. saving is wise and its wise to save.

thanks dear

January is like a punishment for December lol
Very valuable tip

the way people complain in january is just too much

This was a pleasure to read, I have often found myself befuddled by people's attitudes to the month of January. It's as if it's the one month of the year where almost every body chooses to reject responsibility for their overspending in the previous one. Personally I don't buy into the overspending for holidays. I try to buy or make something meaningful for those I care about that doesn't put me out of pocket. That way for me January is simply just a struggle against the cold.
