Tattoos, what do they mean to you? (Includes story of my first tattoo).

Tattoos are a type of permanent body modification whose technique basically consists of injecting ink into the skin.

In many cultures over the years they have been considered as a ceremonial process, a hierarchy distinction, an accessory, and nowadays a form of expression.

Tattoos are also object of controversy: for a group it is something horrible because "you're damageing your body, blablablá", for others it is something beautiful because it is a definitive way of expression, and for some it is a simply fashion.

I join to the group of people who love tattoos, it seems to me one of the best ways to express ourselves, be it love to our family, or simply how we feel.

I have met several people who have told me about their tattoos, for example, a person told me once that his tattoo did not have a meaning as such, but it expressed how he felt inside (his tattoo was a beautiful phoenix).

Since I was about 15 years old I wanted to make me one, I really wanted it, years passed and that desire never diminished, in fact it increased hahaha, but it took me a while to decide because I wanted my first tattoo to have an important meaning for me.

In March of 2017 I found a design by a Venezuelan tattoo artist whose work I love, and in the moment when I saw it I fell in love, it immediately had the right meaning for me.

I remember that I was very excited and I talk to my friend @ davt014. I told him that I needed him to draw that design to me, that I wanted in my skin, so he agreed immediately, then I took advantage of the fact at that moment another friend was in the city who was beginning how a tattoo artist and I said him: "Cesar, I know you have only 5 months making tattoos, but I have seen your work and I really like it, can you tattoo this to me? And he said: "yes, I wanted to do a tattoo with pointillism since a few months ago", and the next day I got my first tattoo :).

I admit that I was very afraid, I knew it hurt, it was 2 and a half hours of session, but the pain was less than I thought, and the result was better than I expected.

Here I leave you a few photos of the process and the result:

After put the template.

What does this tattoo mean to me?

The flower is a gardenia which represents my mom, the arrow that crosses the flower represents my dad, the sprouts that are on the bottom represent my brother and me, and the arrows on the sides represent the path that each one of us (my brother and I) could take in our lives.

So, I would like to know what do you think about tattoos and to which group of people you belong :), feel free to comment it xD.

Beautiful stemians I hope you liked my post, thanks for reading me 💛.

Haha, no problem, I enjoyed reading it as it resonated a lot with me(I wanted a tattoo for a long time before getting it). I have one bigger one on my ribs, a tree of life(from my culture) and one on my wrist (in the picture)

P.D. I'll wait for it :3.

Getting a tattoo is an important decision, it's a definitive marking that one imposes oneself and which must be considered carefully in order to never be regretted afterward ,It will be too late there.
I decided to make me tatto at 15 and I started at 18, I'm 23 and it still has not finished, because this tatto is very special for me:
It represents my life, all the obstacles I managed to overcome and the goals I achieved. Every time I "Level Up" in my aventure, my Life.
Whenever I beat a boss and unlock the next level, make new companions, brother in arm who have agred to tied their destinies to mine, A new Luminary comme to enlarge this constellation on my chest.
This mark in my chest, in my flesh, is reminds me the patch already taken, the bruhstrokes already given, theobstacles already overcome and the fact that the canvas is unfinished, that there is still some way to go, goals to be achieved, that my character is still alive and the game is not finished!!!

The "Game over" appears only when we stop to want to "Retry".

OMG, I need to see your tattoo, I mean you described it amazing, you have to post about it, for real, by the way I like a lot the video games and this phrase: The "Game over" appears only when we stop to want to "Retry", I love it (good idea for a tattoo LOL). Thanks a lot for your comment, I hope you can finish your tattoo someday :).

That is a beautiful tattoo. I myself wouldn't never get one, but am always amazed at people that choose to do them. Great choice and beautiful meaning!

Thank you! I'm glad you like it, it means a lot to me :)

I'm not really big on tattoos, but nothing against them. I like the art, but don't think I'd get one. Generally I'm fine, and if it's a good expression for some, then good on them. The only ones I don't like is full body tattoos, that's taking it too far, if you ask me. Yours on the other hand, is really cool, and I like the story behind it!

Thanks a lot for sharing your way of thinking, I love tattoos but think that I wouldn't a full body tattoo hahaha. I'm glad you liked my tattoo and the story n_n.
