Also referred to as the "appendage of the brain", the pineal gland has been regarded as the gateway to the soul or the higher realm where vital fluids are housed and, as some scientists mention, the origin of mental illness. It is shaped like a conical pea, and is found in the roof ventricle of the brain - behind the root of the nose, in a small lake of cerebrospinal fluid.

  • Melatonin, or sleep hormone. It is an antioxidant with anti-aging effects, body regulation and improved sleep patterns. Consuming a supplement with melatonin can improve mood and empathy, and therefore emotional bonding. Ideally, take the supplement before bedtime - avoiding it before work or an important event.

  • Yoga. According to a study conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, yoga stimulates every gland in the body, primarily the pituitary and pineal glands. This causes an experience similar to the hallucinogen dimethyltryptamine -DMT- of ayahuasca.
