Life in a Lale Regime

Once in a while in every person's life, there comes someone who comes along and changes the status quo and the paradigm of power shifts. This is what happened when the tenure of Prof Ajienka was up and Prof Lale was installed.

This is an account of how a sophomore student saw the changes in his school and the dreaded name that would forever be remembered as Lale.

Most students in their sophomore year in the university of Port Narcot usually look the part; backpack, drawing board(for the engineering students), laboratory coats for the science students and so on depending on their academic pursuit and since i know you might be wondering where i fit into all this. I will tell; i was carrying a drawing board and felt good carrying one too because it announced to the world at large that i was an engineering student without me having to utter a word to anyone but as with everything in life, there is a cog in the wheel and this was the fact that SSLT(Science Students Laboratory Technology) students were also carrying drawing boards which pissed me off to a large extent. Had to live with it though because i could not do anything about it.

Fast forward to the Matriculation day and as to be expected the whole campus and surrounding student villages was "grooving" with activities: drinking, dancing, eating, taking photos with the matriculation gowns you name it. i being the good boy that i am; made a resolution not to go anywhere that day besides my friend from another school was around and i did not want to leave him alone all by himself. Let's just say that my plan to stay at home did not go over so well.

First had an issue with choice on what to wear to the matriculation ceremony(i'm terrible at choosing clothes on the day of an event, i change up to six times before i can make up my mind that is why i do it before that day) and ended up wearing what my friend later politely commented on as "guy you fall my hand for this dressing." I got to the school, went for the matriculation ceremony, though i did not enter the convocation arena because of the crowd. I had to push and prod(oh did i fail to mention that pushing skills are almost a prerequisite skill to get anything done on time in my school?) to get to the front so i can sign my matriculation oath..[To be continued]
