Why you shouldn't say "RIP Stephen Hawking"

in life •  7 years ago

Let's keep it real.

No doubt, you've heard that Stephen Hawking, the man who quantified the Universe in ways most of us will never comprehend, has died. The late physicist has finally surccumb to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(Lou Gehrig's Disease), the same disease that bound him to a wheelchair. Once diagnosed at 21, doctors only gave Hawking 2 years to live and he lived 53 years AFTER THAT. He deserves to be remembered forever but you shouldn't say:

"RIP Stephen Hawking"

Here is why: Stephen didn't believe in Heaven or an Afterlife. When you say RIP, you are implying that he could rest in agony which is....lets face it...him being in HELL. So if we really want to pay homage to this brilliant man just say "Remember Stephen Hawking" or "In loving memory". Something that doesn't directly contradict the person you're paying homage to. Hawking went farther than most would with his condition so, at the very least, we owe him this.
