So it happens i've been trying to hone my public speaking skills for a while now. (I used to be really Shy about speaking in the past, wouldn't say I've overcome that fear yet completely though) hence why I joined Toastmasters international.

Thing is, I figured that at some point in life, we would be required to stand up and say something to a group of people, whether prepared or extemporaneous. Might be at a Friend's party, your regular all guys coffee shop hangout, or a large congregation. Whichever the case, we have it coming.

How's that gonna play out. how effective would you be? I hope you don't blow it though.

So yeah! well, I read the above quote from a friend on Facebook... According the this guy, One cannot possibly speak confidently without thinking right and logical. And in a lot of ways, it seems like the correct thing.

Let's think about it for a sec.

It is not uncommon to hear a great speech delivered by someone, and be moved to take action in line with our deepest values and principles. This is often because the speaker had been able to stir something deep down within us with the power of his words. Such speakers are often regarded as great orators and in contemporary times, are even called THOUGHT LEADERS.

something about that word though... 'Thought Leaders'

I mean, they could have easily been called 'Word leaders'? Afterall they've gained mastery over the use of words. right?

Nah.

This is because Words as exciting as they may be are merely tools - a channel of communication to express the thoughts and feelings you have bubbling deep within you.

The real mastery was in place of their THOUGHTS

When you learn to harness your thoughts, your words will align accordingly.

Power Thoughts produces Power words.

Confident Thoughts produces words. - and in turn, produces confident people.

Thing is, you've gotta learn to THINK RIGHT.

• Think Objectively - without bias.

• Think Creatively - beyond the status quo and norms.

• Think Broad and global - try to expand those horizons of yours.

You must think like a king if you must ever reign and rule.

So whatever you want to accomplish in life, just know that it begins in the place of your thoughts. - your MIND.

Be deliberate about your thoughts. trust me. You've got this!
