A TRUE FRIEND IN @TRUCONSPIRACY

in life •  6 years ago

This was a first for him! LOL!

@Truconspiracy is a longtime friend and spiritual brother of mine, and we always enjoy the company of one another. While life shouldn't be all work, having another guy around to help can be a bonus, so we got some work done together. Here's a taste of some of the things that he helped out with.

@TRUECONSPIRACY - THE WORKER

As shown in the cover photo and the photo above, he had to move some sheep. The big one, "Rambo," in the cover photo we moved by hand. The one above was moved in the truck.

We moved a goat too, and once again, an animal got to go for a ride on his lap. He sure lets me put him through a lot when he visits!

By our powers combined, we were able to finish the east side of the perimeter fence too. I'll still have to line the bottom with rock, and run some barbed wire on the top, but the panels are up and the t-posts are in! Now I've just got some of the north side to complete, and we'll be done with the perimeter!

Since all of my hominy that got tipped over in the storm did not stand back up on its own, we placed a cattle panel next to it and tipped it back up too! This job was also much easier with two men to do the work.

Since it is cooler down in the earth, he helped me finish leveling the root cellar hole. Now, whenever he comes back and sees the finished project, he can say, "Hey, I helped with that!" It'll be a great project to have completed, and we are excited to be working on it!

Since harvesting the garden is pretty much a daily chore, @truconspiracy got in on the action. Here he is harvesting some snake gourds with Monster Truck! We sure got some nice harvests during his visit!

@TRUECONSPIRACY - GETS REWARDED

Down here is an opportunity to @trucospiracy to get another taste of our life as it moves forward. Since this is his fourth visit in less than three years, he's been able to watch us as we progress. Now, he can see the new things on our homestead and give them a try. The quail eggs shown above are not exactly your typical egg harvest, since chicken eggs are most popular in the US.

While they may not be large, they are big on taste, and they sure do look cute in the little basket.

After all his hard work, @truconspiracy got to enjoy a taste of our quail eggs, hardboiled. We enjoyed them with our dinner this morning. I think that he liked them!

The snake gourds were another interesting new food around our homestead. @Truconspiracy was very interested in trying these, so I made him a stir fry featuring the snake gourds and the Chinese red noodle beans. He really like it and is planning on growing both in his garden in the future! I'd like to see that. It's nice to inspire others. Today will be the last full day of his visit, since he returns to Wisconsin tomorrow. As always, it's been a blessing to have him visit!

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 New International Version (NIV)
9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

That's kool. Nice comment. Enjoyed reading it.

Amen to that! Very true!

Good man, true friend!...:)...

Good friends are hard to come by in this world for sure. Seems the older I get the farther apart in just about everything with people I know or knew become. I'm not one to sit around watchin' a ball game knowing every player and their stats at all. Doesn't interest me. I don't eat the SAD diet either. Believe it or not diet plays a big role in friendships. I suppose it stems back to birds of a feather flock together. Glad you have him in your life brother.

by our powers combined.

Nice Captain Planet reference.

You caught that, huh? LOL!

If Tru had been wearing all blue instead of Viking purple he could have passed for Captain Planet..... after a midlife crisis took all his hair.

i def caught it toooooo! haha

It is very cool that you got to spend time with a very good friend and a bonus, got some work accomplished too. Nice to see that he enjoyed his time with the Peppers and got to try new foods too. Your influence is spreading, @papa-pepper!

Yea

friends can be great, they'll help you move, best friends will help you move...a body! :)
Kidding aside, it was very nice of your friend to give you a hand. You certainly have a lot going on, and the garden looks great, never tried snake gourds before, and probably won't, I couldn't get around the name, you see, I'm deathly afraid of snakes, I can't even eat if there is a show on TV showing snakes, I have to change the channel... Lot's of work, but you seem to have a handle on it, good for you!

nice post. friendshi is the best.

Amos 3 Vs 3.

You guys certainly look like you have a lot in common, a model friendship for anyone and everyone to learn from

When a man is willing to get down and sweat with you, he's a true friend indeed...

Indeed he is!

You look like y'all got Alot done!
True friends are rare and special.
Your homestead is busy busy!
All the best to you and the pepper family!

It’s great to see you guys together @papa-pepper. True friends share everything with joyousness and love and work is not work but just the task of the moment. You make an awesome team💛🌴🦋🌈❤️
Happy days!

You guys sure got a lot done! Great to see the work progress daily on your blog; sure it's fun to talk about what we're going to do, but we love results!

It is awesome to have a good friend help with the chores around the house. My buddy and I try to get together once a month at each others homes to get some odd jobs done. Many hands makes light work.
Are you guys staring a mine? You went wild with that excavator didn't you? Be careful in a hole like that, I have heard many stories of people getting trapped in cave-in during excavating.
