I WISH THINGS LIKE THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN

Options are limited...

Hopefully, this will NOT turn into a distaster that ruins our home. Since everything is subject to destruction, sometimes it doesn't take much to lose it all. In this video, I attempt to start to remedy an issue that I recently found. Hopefully I caught it in time.

I got it from @freedompoint ...He might know if you ask him.

Hey, Papa Pepper, You convinced me to Join steemit. Not sure what I'm doing but hey learn as you go right. As for the mice going through the fan... yeah they will most will get killed in the process so keep an eye on the fans so you can remove them ASAP it gets nasty quick and you don't want that smell seeping into the house. Living in the city we are always fighting the mouse problem and this happens to us often. I hope it works well for you! But... be sure to check the insulation closest to the floor is totally dry before you seal it back up because that's where you will have the most problems due to airflow not being able to reach it. You might even want to, if possible without damaging it, pull one side of the wet section down so it hangs and the air can get in there. Good Luck!

Excellent to see you here! I think you'll like it once you get the hang of it. As a way of beginning, you may want to do a #introduceyourself post, where you share a bit about who you are and what you plan on sharing. This is a great place to share text, images, and videos, so anything you want to share can be shared. I've done quite a bit of writing, photography, video-sharing, and blogging here.

Let me know if I can provide any pointers along the way.

Thank you. I am working on figuring out the formatting. I use blogger for my blogs so it's definitely different.

Keep on keepin on papa pepper!

Always something unexpected comes up in owning a house... Good you discovered the problem... Everything can be fixed...

Super stressful watching this, @papa-pepper. Home repairs aren’t one of strengths and I always feel vulnerable when I’m faced with one. I like what you said about protecting your investment. I hope this works. Best of luck.

To make the drain pipe on the sink bigger is difficult, as this stuff is usually certain standard size and hard to modify.
What you could try, however, is to limit the water flow. Under the sink you should have valves to shut off the water (cold/hot?) going to the faucet, in case it leaks and has to be replaced. Use the valves to reduce the water flow to a point, that the drain can handle it if its running fully open unobserved.
And brief the children to use faucets with care - not leave it running if nobody is in the room ect.
A additional precaution could be a leak alarm. A little device that you place on the floor in a place prone to flooding. If it gets wet, it makes a hell of a noise, like a smoke alarm. That way its only a little bit of water that gets spilled. They dont cost much, may be 10 bucks or so.
