Kittens remain with their mother till the age of 9 weeks.

Tez was found walking around the village in the cold by himself. No mother in sight. He was quite a lot smaller than he is now. You are right they should stay with their mothers for 9 weeks.

The first cat show was in 1871 at the Crystal Palace in London.
