Continue From "Time Will Answer Everything"

The boss was so angry on us and blame us that why we never answer properly to MOM officer. But for us we don’t have any certificate, so we can not answer at all. And he start to say that I am the site Engineer and I should be capable to handle the situation.

So I said to the second boss, it is just need some selected people to send for welding course a week to get certificate so that we can do our job smoothly.

During the stop work order, he send me to Changi Water Reclamation Plant project to help others. At where I found my classmate and his brother. And I got the news from them was the boss hire me for the project but end up I need to go to repairing job. My friend brother was project manager and my friend was project Engineer. At first I am so happy that I met with them but turn up in the politic game they also are involve.

This Changi water Reclamation Plant, from the site office to job site was very far, at least need to walk about 15 minutes to reach the basement water tank. At the first day, even I can not come out from the work site to site canteen for lunch. Most of the contractor use their vehicle to go in to the basement tank. And also the area was reclaim land so the place has no trees and any shade to hide from the sun. But very windy when we come out from the basement.

My friend brother don’t want me to stay at their project site and want me to go back to the repair section. But he told me that the big boss want me to be there. During the time with them, I feel much lighter because of I thought they would help me.

Cut the long story short, after they enroll for welding course and ready to attend, I need to go and attend my welding course.

On Saturday I bring back all my PPE from the Changi project and put at my house for the weekend. So on Monday, I went to welding training centre and report to the class. The company sent 5 of us to attend the course for 3G welding course. The course was need to weld two plate join with vertical position. As for us we used to weld before so not a big issue for the welding course.

The course was 1 week long, although we know how to weld, we still need to practice everyday to prepare our test. We practice everyday about six hours. The course owner even never see employment pass before and when he ask me for Identification card, he refuse to take my employment pass and ask me for other ID. I told him that it was also my ID but he told me to give other ID, so I gave him my driving licence.

He called back to my office and double check with my office that why don’t bring my work permit to the class. My admin lady answer back that I am the Engineer so I don’t have any work permit card.

After that he change his attitude and treated me differently and ask me why I am here to get 3G certificate for welding although I have diploma certificate.

I answer him that I really want to have welding very long. This is the opportunity to take the welding certificate, so that I can prove that I can weld and I have a certificate. For me, my workmanship of welding quality don’t have any issue.

I am just waiting for the test date. When the day come I did quite well and pass the test.

Unfortunately one of my fellow colleague fail who was in-charge of Ulu Pandan. And found out that he failed for Theory test because he do not understand how to answer in English.
