That's right, twice!
First, as you know, I've basically sold my house now. Just some formalities left and about a week from now, the buyer will be out of time to back out of the deal we'll be signing on wednesday.
I'm so happy to finally sell my house, as it's been sitting empty for long enough now.
Selling my house means we are now both officially without a house to own. My boyfriend's house sold last year and we now live on his dad's property in a cabin-ish shed. We're lucky to be able to live here, because it doesn't cost much and that gives my boyfriend room to pay off his debt to his dad.
I would like to get a house of our own though. I found a house in an amazing location, but the house itself needs some work. I know everyone always says "Location, location, location" and it is definitely the most important thing about buying a house. Normally, I would go for this in a heartbeat, but my boyfriend wants to pay off his debt first (which I completely understand and agree with). I could help him with that, but it would mean we wouldn't have funds left to get that house up to standards.
So, either cryptos will have to make a crazy jump upwards this month, or I'll probably miss out on this amazing location with the house that needs work, but is completely stand-alone and has an awesome, private yard.
I don't expect to get this house, though I would love it if I did. I just don't have the funds for it and I'm not a crazy whale-type account here that earns plenty every day, so it doesn't look like it's in the cards for me.
So, while I'm afraid I have to miss out on that amazing opportunity, I've also set my sights on another house!
A house in the online MMO game The Elder Scrolls Online!
This game gives you the opportunity to buy a house for your characters (or more, but let's start with one). There are plenty to choose from and the prices vary greatly.
Seeing as I've only just started playing this game, I'm not able to buy a big property, but I do want a property with a yard! I checked out the cheaper ones and settled on the property called 'Autumn's Gate'.
Sadly, it's still early dawn ingame right now, so my screenshots are pretty dark.
This house has one room, but it's a fairly big one compared to others in this price range. It also has a small yard and I love the building style of this house.
There are also mud houses or plant pods available, but they just didn't do it for me.
So, Autumn's Gate is the house for me! However, picking one was only the first step. Now, I need to gather enough funds to actually buy it! Ideally with some to spare, so I can decorate it, but that can be a long-term project.
I'm at about a third of the way there now, so I still have some ways to go. Normally in MMOs, I like to earn some extra gold by selling stuff on an Auction House or Marketplace. Sadly, ESO doesn't have this. Sure, people created guilds to do this, but I don't want to join a guild. Besides, the best guilds for this have plenty of requirements I'm not ready to meet, since I've only just started.
Without auctioning as an option, I've had to resort to... other means.
See, ESO gives you the opportunity to sneak around and it also gives you a nice little indicator that tells you if anyone notices you, or if you're at risk of being noticed. As long as you're not being noticed, you can steal stuff! Well, you can steal stuff either way, but you'll gather up a bounty rather quickly if you steal stuff in front of NPCs. You'll have to avoid guards and such, or risk paying off a fine and returning stolen goods.
Stealing items is the most profitable activity I've found in ESO so far. You can only sell so many stolen items a day though, so you have to keep an eye on that and don't sell crap that gives you just a couple of gold pieces. I did spend a skillpoint to increase the amount I can sell every day, so that helps a lot.
With the lack of an auction house, what's a girl to do to get herself a house? They're basically forcing my hand here!
So, I'm thinking my chances of getting this ingame house are much higher than the real life house. Atleast I'll have the one, right? Gotta save up quickly in real life to not miss out on the next opportunity that comes along (or hope this dream house of mine stays on the market a lot longer).

You're definitely not the first one to mistake a screenshot for reality when it's such a small icon! Heck, the people who don't read a post and quickly scroll to the bottom to write a generic comment often mistake my screenshots in a gaming post for 'Wow, beautiful photos!' ;-)
Games certainly have amazing graphics now!

It's a really nice mmorpg. I haven't been playing it for long, but I'm enjoying it so far! Have you played any other Elder Scrolls games? I've only played Skyrim besides this one.
Hope you manage to hit your goals some day :D

Good luck getting your both houses haha :P
What you say about getting stealing items in the game is normal, I also stole a lot of things when playing Skyrim, but ended up stopping because the items I got completing missions were much better. But I remember when I was first starting how happy I was when stealing those huge pieces of cheese that restored a lot of health hahahaha

I hardly ever stole in Skyrim, because I was so afraid to get caught and somehow ruin something important! I was very reluctant to start it in ESO aswell, but it turns out, nothing too bad happens, as long as you're careful :D
