Last week Tesla presented at the "Semi"-event a new typ of an electric truck.
The price has now been revealed a week after the electric vehicle launched alongside the new sport car, called Roadster. At the launch event the price was not revealed but company CEO Elon Musk added that it would be cheaper (at least around 20 %) to run than a diesel.
According to the website of the company, the prices for the truck begin a $150,000 for the smaller 300-mile version and a $180,000 for the larger 500-mile version of Teslas's Semi. It is now listing a so called ‘base reservation’ price of $20,000 for the production ready version (start of production: 2019).
The prices for the new Roadster were also revealed: Elon Musk is planning a special ‘Founders Series’ which will cost around $250,000. People who order this 1000 limited cars have to pay the whole price when they order the car. Analysts say that Tesla uses this way to finance their upcoming projects. Over the past 12 months, the electric-car maker has been burning a lot of money for investments all over the world (especially for its Gigafactory). Calculated down to a cash burn rate per hour the result is crazy: Tesla burns $480,000 an hour or more than $8000 per minute!
What do you think about Tesla and Elon Musk? -
Visionary company with a lot of potential in the future or gigantic overrated bankrupt company?
