Unless it is for platforms like Steemit, Social Media is mostly unproductive :) but again early days for Steemit as well.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam

    Thanks for the input! I agree with you. And yes, I wish more people used Steemit. I'm really looking forward to start using it as my main platform :)
