Being born to parents with a love for art I was always encouraged and pushed towards the colourful road. Thinking back at my childhood experiences, I find myself the most spending quality time preparing paper crafts and pencil sketching under the guidance of my dad. With a purpose for me to improve in this field, I was admitted into a Drawing school where I was taught to draw with finesse. Eventually I grew an interest in this field where I seeked the most pleasure and peace in.
Travels 10 years ahead During the first year of my Masters in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, I was diagnosed with a back problem which required me to undergo a surgery and stay in complete bed-rest for almost a span of 6 months. This isolation from the world outside created a complete havoc in my mind. That is when I chose to give painting a shot. Subsequently, I had an aunt visit me and she decided to place an order for a painting to be kept in her boutique. Impressed by the work, I eventually began to receive orders from many others. I then named my little hobby as 'Fabricaa'. I also conduct drawing and craft classes at my home in Mangalore.
Scrolling through my feed on Facebook, I found out about "POWER PARBA" a platform that encouraged women entrepreneurs to come into the limelight and grow in their chosen fields. I immediately registered and reserved a stall for myself. My parents were extremely supportive and taught me to never look back. The exhibition was only 15 days after my final examinations and I had absolutely limited time to prepare and gather inventory. I felt the most anxious on the first day of the exhibition as it was my first time. I received a good amount of appreciation and love from all the visitors which constructively helped me to have an idea about the crowd and their demands in the further days. The organisation of this mega event was extra-ordinary. The manner in which everything was arranged is commendable. All the lovely members from the Team POWER were extremely friendly, courteous and encouraging which was a factor that helped in driving a positive attitude till the fag end of the 4 day event. I received several on-spot orders for paintings and many others have showed an earnest interest in our products. The kind of exposure that I have been able to get through Power Parba, is beyond my imagination. I'm extremely grateful to all our humble visitors and customers who have trusted in us and the organisers for giving us an opportunity to exhibit our talent through your platform.
