You could be moving to Mars. In the next decade there will most likely be the first of many opportunities to move to the beautiful red planet. Exploring places for the first time, staking claim to the unknown, becoming a pioneer that will be remembered forever, if these things make you excited then seriously consider the offer. I'll be there right beside you.
Elon Musk has outlined a new launch system (rocket and lander) late in 2016, which sent shivers down the spines of other launch programs. NASA has been developing their own next generation capsule and launch system called Orion.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orion_(spacecraft)
They know what they are doing and have many reasons to continue developing this capsule but are quickly being left to the very specialized missions instead of being the all around program that NASA used to be. Privatizing the space business is a huge step forward in accessibility and cost that NASA is excited about. NASA will be around as a symbol of discovery. Working to maintain the quality and fervency in science and exploration. It is NASA that paved the way for our future and we should always protect that. The next step is to let people like Elon Musk have the freedom he needs to continue human discovery and exploration.
Recently Musk discussed his plan to bring the cost sending one person to Mars from being around 10 billion to around 200 thousand dollars. This is an estimate, but still a huge milestone and world shattering change if it comes to fruition.
Here is a great article outlining this and other things in his plan: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2017/06/21/elon-musk-create-city-mars-million-inhabitants/
If you haven’t watched his presentation from last fall that announced the new launch system I highly suggest it. This is a game changer and supporting this through science funding and investments are paramount. Here’s a link:
Stephen Hawking and many other great minds have stated many times that we need to start colonizing other planets and bodies. From the Moon and Mars to Enceladus and beyond. Musk is planning to make this a reality, because if we don’t we risk extinction. The scared and the fearful will always criticize and say it can’t be done. Let’s ignore them and just take their criticism in a constructive way. If the opportunity to move to Mars and start a new colony comes I will jump on board. The recent Mars One program started this idea in an international way. Planning to send four people every two years to Mars in a one way mission. http://www.mars-one.com/ Even though they haven’t announced very much in the way of progress for their missions I am in full support. I was going to sign up with them to go when they had their call for pioneers, but was in a relationship with someone that didn’t want to go. That relationship fell apart later which taught me that future relationships need to be with someone that is ok going with me leaving for Mars or that she would make the journey as well.
The risks of making that trip are enormous. Add colonizing a planet and making it sustain us as a species is more than dangerous. This is going to be a bigger challenge than any previous explorer has ever come across. We evolved to live on Earth and find that most places on this beautiful planet let’s this happen. Even places where we would die without technological help have been colonized. Becoming a pioneer of a new land and world is what we do best, and the next step is Mars. Many will die and that is a risk that you need to understand. Many will become more than what they could ever achieve here on Earth. Most will say no and consider the next generation of explorers to be insane for doing this. Don’t listen to them because that desire inside you to discover something new is something that no one can smother. We will claim the unknown and forge a path for human beings to live forever. I am more than excited and can’t wait to take this journey with you.
Whether it is Mars One, Musk, NASA, or any other group that first sends humans to Mars, the reality is that we are going and we will make the red planet our second home.

A boardgame called terraforming...... MARS? ?... I think my Amazon cart needs assistance 1sec.
Edit: Looks like a german boardgames, if yes: Gutes Konzept & spiel, ich liebe es jetzt schon.
If no:
Great concept and game, I already love it.
Thanks a lot.

I think its an decrease of 4 million percent.
The comment section is so empty for such an undervalued post!
So let's fill it up: Would you use the hyperloop.............. ON MARS?
Btw I followed you becaue you seem to be a space interested guy, m2 I wrote a post about what NASA could do with the military annual budget ($600billion dollar)

Thanks @aircoin
The fact that NASA's budget is only 0.5% of GDP ($18.4 Billion) and with that they do so much. I think if they just increased it to 0.8% or even 1% of GDP would allow them to complete the full list of missions they plan. With $600 billion it would a world changing jump in discovery for humans!
And thank you for promoting this post! I followed you as well.
