Be Happy, Be a Volunteer!

The objective of this post is simply to encourage everyone here to be active in community works. It does not only satisfy you as a person to serve a purpose but it is also an endeavor to make friends, build a second family, attach to nature, understand differences, respect diversity and ENJOY!

I have my locally formed group focused on community extension called Consolacionanon [term given to someone living in Consolacion]. But before it focused on community extension, it's primary purpose is to have a group on facebook where Filipinos outside the Philippines can get updates on the happenings here in Consolacion.

Until one of our members posted something:

I am one of the members who responded the call. We formed a core group to spearhead and organize the membership and activities. I was elected as the secretary of the group, so most of the time, I am part of the planning. The group decided to focus on rendering service to the community aside from socializing and giving news to the Filipinos abroad. The group serves as a bridge between the people here in Consolacion who do the work as volunteers and the people abroad who support as financially to carry out our goals. The history of Consolacionanon to render service to our beloved hometown Consolacion, Cebu started. Later, we have extended our hands to nearby towns and to the islands near Cebu.

Donors here and outside the Philippines started to come to support our various projects and activities financially. We have organized projects for nature, LGBTQ, senior citizens, less fortunate children, educational assistance, animals, health and lend our arms during calamities and disasters. Since 2013 we've been doing volunteerism. Here is a throwback to 2017.
