Late last night my son and I was watching tv waiting on the Mrs. To get home from work. Well about 10:30 est I get a phone call from my wife screaming and crying at the top of her lungs. It was very hard to understand her. There was a very loud beeping noise in the back ground. At that point my son heard the police scanner talking about an accident at exit 179. I had a bad feeling that this was where she was.

I jumped in the truck and headed to the exit ( about 3 miles) still with my wife on the phone and not being able to make out what she was saying... took me about 1 min to get there and here is what I pull up to.

At first I thought my life had just slipped away from me. I get out of my truck and run up there. Thank god she was alert and was able to speak. The police department pulled up just shortly after I got there, and then the ambulance. Other than some bad bruises and a few scrapes from the glass she was fine. So off to the hospital we go to get checked out.

Spent a few hours at the hospital to make sure that nothing internally was damaged. Which thank god there wasnt.

So this morning I had to go and take care of the car. All the police did was have it towed off. So i get there this morning and start looking at car

There are three reason for this post and all 3 of them are very dear to me.

  1. Thank god my wife is fine

  2. Do not ever, I mean ever text and drive

  3. Volvo.

I will explain number 2.

Yes the young man that ran the red light and hit my wife was texting and driving. She was lucky, but most of all he was lucky. So to everyone you reads this please share it texting is the number one casue for automobile accidents.

On to number 3.

My wife drove a Volvo s60,

She wasnt happy when I bought her this car, she said it looked like a mama's car. (I traded her lexus is250 for it so she was already not happy)
Let me tell you this volvo saved her life. The air bags that come equipped on this car are amazing.

Praise God that the Mrs. is OK. I do hope that young man was shaken up enough to realize how bad it all could have gone. Great plug for Volvo.

Amen, on the praising God part, not the Volvo part.

I believe he was. Thanks for the comment.

I am thanking God with you now at this moment that your wife is Ok.
I am following you, you can follow me @hope777.

Thanks @hope777, followed

happy to hear she is okay

Thanks so much @peaceloveliberty

Yup, Volvo will do that.

My sister got t-boned by a truck in her Volvo. both her and my nephew who was still so small he was in a baby seat, were uninjured. a bit shaken up and bruised, but that was the extent of it.

When buying a new car (for my last two cars) I started with the highest safety rating and then looked at what was available.

I got a cute car (Mazda CX3) that has a 5 star safety rating. Well happy with that.

I'm glad your wife is fine, and even that the idiot who was texting and driving is fine. Perhaps some lessons will be learned.

Replying to a text is not worth dying for - even if she is really cute ;-)

Trevor-george you are so correct about texting and driving. Thanks for the comment.

That was crazy my mates dad used to have a police scanner there illegal to have in the uk but he was dodgy! so glad she was ok its things like this that make you realise just how lucky you are!
