According to the dictionary:
pow·er pol·i·ticsˈpou(ə)r ˈpäləˌtiks/noun
- political action by a person or group that makes use of or is intended to increase their power or influence.
This is pure and simple, the state in all of its heinous forms have always tried to overcome the natural of authority of the family unit over the control of children and the elderly. We saw this happen a year ago with baby Charlie, but this is the story of a regime that creates a system so "perfect" they would sooner kill you or imprison you than let you leave their grasp.
I haven't paid much attention to the controversy revolving around baby Alfie Evans because I can't state this again and go through the emotional involvement again that goes through trying to convince people of an issue they would never change their mind on. This is like the same argument we have each time there is a shooting or a terrorist attack. There is only one antidote to statism and that is individual freedom.
The right to try anything and everything to save your life, whether it be experimental drugs for cancer or the right to posses a gun to defend yourself, if you can't protect your most intrinsic right- the right to life, you are a slave.
The British government would rather kill Alfie Evans than let him go get the help he needs. This child could be saved, but he must die so the British government can show their "perfect" healthcare system is the end all, be all. This is power politics plain and simple, the state cannot be questioned or undermined, and they would rather kill a thousand more Alfies than concede some authority.
