The Power of Positive Self-Talk: Boosting Confidence and Self-Esteem

Positive self-talk is a powerful force. I've heard about this from psychologists, coaches and life coaches. In the last year, I've done a whole lot of work on myself and developed a positive mindset. This article covers the basics and gives some pointers to help you apply it on a daily basis.


A little bit of self-talk goes a long way.

STEP 1: Know Your Strengths

This is the most important thing. You have to know who you are and what you can contribute. It's easy to get lost in what you can't do. Focus on what you are good at and how you can make yourself more effective.

STEP 2: Find Your Motivation

What motivates you?

What's your passion?

What gives you energy?

What inspires you?

Do you want to learn something new?

Do you need to make more money?

Do you want to build relationships?

Do you want to go back to school?

The more motivated you are, the more willing you'll be to put in the hard work required to achieve your goals.

STEP 3: Focus on the End Result

Your mind doesn't really care about details. In fact, it's impossible for it to think about a million things at once. That's why you focus on the end result. When you keep your eyes on the prize, you can stay in the moment, feel less stressed, and remain confident.

You'll feel more energized and empowered when you know you are on the right track.

STEP 4: Visualize Success

Visualize success as much as possible. This is the only way you'll get there.

Visualize all of your big goals and dreams. Imagine yourself accomplishing them. See yourself being successful. You can't see the future, but you can imagine it. It will give you strength and confidence.

STEP 5: Have Faith

We live in a world of uncertainty. There's a lot of stuff going on that we don't know about. But you already know this. You were born with faith. You must never doubt yourself. If you do, everything will fall apart.

I'm not religious, but I believe in God. I believe that if He's there, he wants the best for us.

Think of yourself as a kid. When you have doubts and fears, you can't act upon them, but you still have faith.

You should always have faith. You can't control what happens in your life, but you can control how you respond to it.

You have to believe that you are capable of achieving your goals. You have to know that you will succeed.
