Teachers' Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers. It is a chance to hold celebrations to honour them for their special contributions in a particular field area, or the community in general.
In Costa Rica, Teacher's Day is November 22nd and is held in commemoration of the birth of Mauro Fernández Acuña (11/22/1843), one of the country's greatest educators. He is so important he even features on one of the country's bank notes.
