Sunflowers for a Sun Worshipper

If it was the first day of summer vacation, Carol, who was an educator, would be at Coney Island beach. Therefore, it was fitting to have a memorial gathering with friends at the beach, and sunflowers, with their bright yellow petals like the rays of the sun, were the perfect flower with which to memorialize her. We found this piece of driftwood on the sand and placed the flowers there before tossing them into the sea in memory of Carol.

Ashes to Ashes

Carol's official memorial service was held in October, and she wished to have little bundles of ashes given to friends for specific places to spread them. This one was for the beach buddies. We gave them a kiss and said a little prayer, then we tossed them into the Atlantic Ocean.

A Toast to Our Absent Friend

Carol loved to laugh and drink and have fun. She was always the life of the party. She made everyone laugh, and she was such a pleasure to be around. Someone brought cups and a bottle of Prosecco for a toast, and we remembered our fun, funny friend.

Always in Our Hearts

Her spirit still lives in each one of us. She was a treasure of a friend. We miss you, Carol! We are grateful that you were the one who brought us all together, and we will always appreciate that. I love you always.
