My purpose has been to agree to my own delusions inso much as they agree with the delusions of those I chose to interact with and care about and their delusions. I am a self correcting, self modifying, self purposing individual, striving to make my own path to a better delusion of a better purposes than I've had before. A purpose or purposes are just self goals or list of self goals that also include shared goals and purposes with others. Once you know thyself you chose thyself your purpose.
What's shamefull in my book is the mental manipulation of others to go against their own free will to chose their own purposes and confusing them into doing so. What is honerable is teaching others to discover themselves and chose their own purpose.
To sum it up purpose is just a set of goals to strive toward that can change minute to minute, day to day. Set yourself a higher purpose but don't forget to set lower obtainable ones to reach so you have something to grasp onto while your climbing toward the seemingly unreachable.

for most of human history, purpose was surviving
then purpose became getting just a little bit more comfort and luxury
and then the idea of passing on that nest egg to your kids became purpose
now? for Westerners, damn near everything is handed to us, and as long as we parrot the Narrative, we are assured our place in the sun...
...well for the middle-upper class and the rich, anyway. The working class and entrepreneurs still have to grind it out to get the goodies for their kids...
in the third world, purpose is still centered on survival; not as much time for navel-gazing and no health care plan to take care of a shrink's co-pay ;>
This can be the purpose of any man

I like the way you think :) I'm not sure of the exact quote but it's one of my favorites from Socrates - "The one thing I know for certain is that I know nothing." All we can do is exactly what you're talking about here because there doesn't seem to be a way to know the actual truth. Is there a purpose or isn't there? Do I focus and wonder about it or just let it go? Do I share my beliefs or keep them to myself? I know what my answer is for myself and then I go out into the world and encounter people like you with their own way of doing things where possibilities are shared. Information exchanged and we take it and move on.
I think the one thing each human has in common is that we're all looking for truth. The way we find it, in my belief, is through interacting with each other and then processing it with whatever existing programs we have in our lifetime. Maybe we have "... to follow someone else's well-positioned "expert advice" than man-up and think for ourselves,..." for the time being because that's the only way to move forward and gain knowledge and experience for ourselves, etc.
I've gone from being an atheist who was completely okay with there being an eternal nothing waiting for us after death, to believing in God in the sense that we're all just a part of the same entity and we just happen to wake back up in the soul dimension after we die. In any case, it's been a long process getting me from here to there. The one thing keeping me going was an open mind and a drive to learn the truth. Have I found it? I have no idea. Most likely not but I feel closer to it than I was before. And maybe I'll think something completely different again somewhere down the road. I think each person is doing the same thing in life at their own pace. Who knows or cares if it's the right or the wrong way? Finding truth, in essence, is finding happiness. And everyone is always looking for that balance innately.
But I don't know! I can only talk about it :D
Have you ever read Michael Newton's books about our lives between lives? He's a hypnotherapist who regressed hundreds of people to what they all describe as our actual home. "Journey of Souls". Really interesting.
Thanks for your perspective on things :)

The whole concept of meaning is indeed subjective, thus opening up so many possibilities to create beautiful meaning ...

Excellent post, very well-put. I really like your writing style too. Thank you.
On point. This actually reminded me of one of my favorite books, "The Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way" (Mūlamadhyamakakārikā) by Nāgārjuna.
I was lucky to take a class on Buddhism in college, and together with some unique experiences I was fortunate to have, my interest was spiked (I always had a philosophic proclivity and pondered life anyway), since then have been learning more about eastern spirituality and have been curiously researching into more esoteric schools of thought and mysticism (Hermeticism for instance, I've learnt a ton from studying Manly P. Hall, I assume you may have studied him but if not I strongly strongly recommend, there are some incredible audio books on Youtube, it's a balsam to the soul listening to this guy).
And when marrying such knowledge with more scientific disciplines (theoretical physics-quantum mechanics, neuroscience-cognitive science) things get prettyyy interesting...
Thank you for your work again, you have a lot of awesome content for me to go through, I am following you :) :)
*picture of the book!
