A Walk With an MSUan

I came from the province of Davao del Norte. I know there were a lot of prestigious universities at home, but what can I do I’m up for the challenge Mindanao State University can give me. And it wasn’t just the challenge that makes me love this University. So now, let’s take a walk over the reason on what keeps me here.

One, It is where I really met what fellowship really means. I have met my family in Christ and thought me how to live life fully and free of worries. They made me feel welcome and belong, making Mindanao State University as my second home.

Two, I’ve had the happiness inspite the hardship. I started as an Electronics and Communication Engineering student. I was a Math Prodigy when I was young (well, that was what they made me think. I’ve been raised to compete math quizzes after another) and with that I want to be in a field where I could use my skill. But maybe Engineering Maths were not for me. And instead I went to Entrepreneurial Marketing and face sales and business expansions instead. Though I felt disappointed at myself first, being in my new career makes me enjoy learning by incorporating my skills and hobbies- which I’ll be sharing next with you.

Three, school and fine could be on your way simultaneously. Well, I always love to dress up and pose on pictures, let’s just say I’m a little vain. Now, let’s incorporate it with marketing. One of the four P’s of marketing is advertising and as a course requirement we are tasked to do some advertisements and magazine. Yes, my friends I became one of our models, isn’t it fun?

Four, Here in MSU, first semester is for show casing your talents and skills. Some students participates on intramurals and some were on dance and musicale extravaganza, well let’s just disregard those students who prefers to be the audience instead of the one to be watched. So I as an MSUan student is a kind of person who loves performing arts instead of sports. I participated with the Dance extravaganza in line dance category. What makes it exciting is that my brother also joined the said event from a different college.

Five, we have talked with schools courses, show casing talents now let’s proceed to one of my favorite topics which doesn’t really show because I’m so thin. But believe me when I say I LOVE FOOD. College life wasn’t easy really but it’s not that hard also. It’s just a matter of working hard and having a little reward afterwards. And speaking of food, well, that is my reward for myself. For all the years of staying inside MSU, I could say I’ve been eating in every food establishment here. From college canteens, to karenderia, café, restos and fine dine. Mindanao State University may be located at a distant city but we are not deprived by the leisure the city could give.

I give you five reasons people, but I there are actually a lot more reasons as to why I still chose to stay in MSU eventhough there’s a lot of hindrance that have come unto my way. And if you stay tune, I’ll give you a little tour inside Mindanao State University and Marawi City.
