Lately I've been pondering the (over)use of the term "content."
It's starting to feel like chicken nuggets instead of whole pieces of chicken. In other words, a congealed mess of mystery substances that looks like food, but has no nutritional value.
Consider the mental difference between a person sitting down on Monday morning, saying, "I need to create some content this week," and a person sitting down on Monday morning saying, "I'm going to write a detailed article about Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers, take a beautiful photo of Sapsuckers in the wild, and share them for all to enjoy."
It's partially about the approach, and partially about the "why."
The world needs fewer "content creators" and more writers, painters, poets, photographers, screenwriters, comedians, and other artists.
