Superfoods that Regenerate and Detox your body from toxins and heavy metals Pt.2!

in life •  7 years ago

Superfoods are nutrient powerhouses that pack large doses of antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals. Eating them may reduce the risk of chronic disease, and prolong life, and people who eat more of them are healthier and thinner than those who don't. Superfoods help your body detoxify and clean from harmful toxins that have built up over time. And that is why you should include atleast 1 superfood into your diet to help your body fight the constant battle against bacteria, toxins and diseases. I will name just a couple and say something about them and their benefits while trying to make this post short enough for you to easily read. There are well over 20 superfoods to be listed so I will make this post in parts :) Enjoy!

GOJI BERRIES

The goji berry, also called the wolfberry, is a bright orange-red berry that comes from a shrub that's native to China. In Asia, goji berries have been eaten for generations in the hope of living longer.

Over time, people have used goji berries to try to treat many common health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, fever, and age-related eye problems. Goji berries are eaten raw, cooked, or dried (like raisins) and are used in herbal teas, juices, wines, and medicines.

Goji berries are a good source of vitamins and minerals, including:

vitamin C
fiber
iron
vitamin A
zinc
antioxidants

These berries contain all 8 essential amino acids. A single 4 ounce serving provides nearly 10 percent of your daily value for protein. For fruit, this is a surprising amount of protein.

The carbohydrates in goji berries are also complex carbs. This means your blood sugar will raise slowly, reducing your risk of a sugar crash afterwards.

Goji berry health benefits include:

  1. Boosted Immune System and Flu Protection

  2. Maintain Blood Sugar

  3. Increase Life Expectancy

  4. Lower Blood Pressure

  5. Excellent Source of Antioxidants

  6. May Boost Energy Levels

    MATCHA TEA

Matcha is prepared from high quality green tea leaves called tencha. During the growing process, tencha leaves are protected from direct sunlight for at least 20 days before harvesting. This unique method stimulates the production of amino acids and results in leaves that are a deep shade of green. Harvesting is then done by hand, ensuring that only the finest quality leaves are selected. Finally, the leaves are steamed and ultra-fine milled into a beautiful green powder, which is known as matcha powder.

Health Benefits of Matcha Tea include:

Antioxidant Power: Matcha stores a wealth of natural antioxidants and polyphenols. A research study assessing the antioxidant power of matcha tea has revealed that as compared to other green teas matcha has the highest amount of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), an extremely healthful component with numerous benefits. These antioxidants seek out for the oxygen free radicals and neutralize their harmful effects thereby, protecting the body from the occurrence of disorders or inflammations associated with the oxidative stress.

Cardiovascular Health: Another valuable action exerted by epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) present in match is the maintenance of cardiovascular health. Richness of this component in matcha tea makes it a potent potion to keep cholesterol levels low. A research study has suggested that EGCG helps in reducing the accumulation of lipids and promotes autophagy in the vascular endothelial cells.

Mental Alertness and Calming Effect: Matcha tea works wonderfully well in providing a calming effect to the body. L-theanine, a unique amino acid present in matcha green tea possesses anti-anxiolytic properties and which assists in boosting alpha waves in the brain. These alpha waves encourage relaxation and induce a profound feeling of mental clarity and more alert state of mind just as is imparted by the yoga techniques. A study conducted on theanine suggests that theanine acts as neurotransmitter which exerts calming effect on the brain without causing any drowsiness. This soothing effect provided by matcha helped the Buddhist monks in maintaining deep concentration during their meditation sessions and was the main reason behind its popularity. Another study has revealed the anti-stress effects of theanine present in matcha which assists in reducing the physiological and psychological stress responses by inhibiting the neuron excitation.

Detoxification: Chlorophyll present in matcha tea accentuates its effectiveness in cleansing process of the body. Chlorophyll is an excellent detoxifier which helps in cleansing the blood. It aids in maintaining the alkalinity of blood and tissues. Chlorophyll also helps in preventing the association of harmful toxins with colon walls and flushes them out of the body.

Thanks for posting this great info. Not enough people know about these fantastic foods. And even fewer people actually make them a regular part of their diet. I've been eating these for decades, along with daily juicing and mostly plant based diet (I still cant resist a good filet mignon now and then). And I can attest that they are phenomenal for boosting your imune system, which is the true measure of health. I have not had the flu, or even a fever for well over 30 years. And never had a flu shot. Thank you again for the post. Keep up the good work and I'll keep upvoting.
