Foiled smash and grab attempt!!
This video is not my own, but it was doing the rounds on social media here in South Africa this week. The story even featured on breakfast radio, where I heard about it. I thus googled the video and decided to post it.
The car driver was visibly in shock on the video. The motorcyclist was interviewed on radio, and he said he just did this out of instinct. It seems from the video that the car driver was not very grateful for being helped, but the motorcyclist said on the radio that the driver thanked him afterwards. Apparently the driver of the car knocked the thief over with the car and also drove over the laptop, outside of the video footage, thus was quite shocked when he received the laptop back.
Smash and grab is quite bad here in South-Africa, one should never drive with any valuables in plain view in the car, e.g. on the front seat, as this will invite thieves to smash your window and grab your valuables. You should also keep your car locked at all times.
What would you do in a situation like this?

That motorcyclist did the right thing and I don't know I didn't see any positive expression from the car driver on Motor Cyclist!
