The sulfur baths - Abanotubani - the city of Tbilisi was born. A legend is connected with its appearance that once King Vakhtang Gorgasali (considered the founder of Tbilisi) was hunting in those parts and shot a pheasant, and he fell into a sulfur source. Further events have two versions: the pheasant was not eaten, or it was instantly healed from the wound and flew away - but somehow the king liked this place so much that he decided to move the capital there from Mtskheta.
