Replacing Your Fears With Risks

in life •  6 years ago

More often than not, people always fall victim of what they have been very scared of. Fears and taking of risks are two mutually exclusive events. The occurrence of one (fear, for example) negates the occurrence of the other (risks). This is the reason risks are not for the chicken-hearted and lilly-levered.

Everything about life can be summed up in one word "risk", and it is time we should understand that nothing of value is gotten without taking obvious responsibilities - among them is "risk". Even though some may see life as risky, but it is riskier if you exempt yourself from taking those risks.

We have airplane today because the Wright brothers took the risk to make a heavier-than-air metal to float on the air. If they had not taken that risk, we may not have known what airplane is today.

The good thing here is, everytime you do that singular thing that scares you the most, you will gain mastery over your fear. But if you refuse to take that bold step, you will be feeding your fears to grow bigger.

When you lay less emphasis on fear and focus more on the risks you want to take, your fears will start to be scared of you. In life's journey, everyone's fears is their mountain which has the propensity to either grow or diminish - depending on the risks you take or do not take.

Even if you take the risks and miss hitting the mark, do not be discouraged. At least, you will be glad that you have taken the risk, and you can start again. This time, you will be starting with relative experiences and not from the scratch.

When taking risks, do not be scared of failure. Just resolve within yourself that you have only one agenda; and that is to succeed. With this mindset, you can surmount any mountain without stress.
