It is like playing the game of dice
life is sometimes about taking the leap without thinking twice
risks can award you
and sometimes betray your choice
what you learn ultimately does make you wise

Friends who are true to you are like gems
family members who keep away are also like them
then, there are those who poke their nose
make you experience the taste of 'hell': mayhem
stop being their 'joystick' but do not condemn

Imagine a place, so white
that you are dazzled by the shining light
reminds you of a bride's gown
and flowers that are so pure and bright
it transforms you alright

peace and contentment is what you should seek
be a water pot without a leak

I write poems to express myself. I started writing at the age of twelve or so and some of my poems were published in magazines for children, a time when print still ruled the world. The internet and the blogging world has helped me write poems. Most of it was as I wrote earlier, to express myself and my thoughts. I have also been a ghostwriter.

Steemit has helped me write with freedom and also earned me very good friends who encourage me to write. I hope my readers will support me and also join in this contest. I am not a student of literature and so I do not consider myself an expert in poetry. It is the judge who will decide.
