Original Front Facade

The next part of the renovation journey for the house was to replace the old and worn and weathered front fence. This is a photo from the front of the house when we first purchased it. The old fence can be clearly seen on the right.

The Swinging Gate

The first step was the construction of a swinging gate I could still get the trailer and other items down the side of the house. I concreted some support posts into the ground and then welded the frame together for the gate. I then added the white mini-orb to the gates and hung them to the posts.

Removing and Erecting New Fence

Next the old fence was removed and dumped and then the arduous task of digging holes for the new posts started. There were a few as we decided to make the front fence from Merbau Wooden slats and these can warp if not secured correctly. Each post was dug by hand and then concreted in.

Posts were then chemset either side of the carport to be used for support for the automatic sliding gate.

Automatic and Pedestrian Gate

A space was left for the pedestrian gate and the sliding gate and both of these were manufactured and installed by a third party. It was the only part of the install I couldn't do myself.

A new letter box later and it was all finished.

The final product.

I think it is a big improvement on the first photo from when we first purchased the place.

What do you think?

Thanks for reading.

Thankyou for that. I appreciate your kind words.

thats nice !
love your trampoline :D

Nice! Your fence/gate looks good. DIY seems like such an effort though.

That is badass!!!! I want a set up like yours so they can't actually get to my front door and try to sell me shit :D When it's time I'll be sure to ask you for hints and tips!

Feel free. I'll even tell you how to heckle from the front balcony over the fence!!

New front fence added a whole pile of class XD (and hopefully stops the door knockers)

Thanks. If you don't lock the front gate then they still walk straight on through anyway!

When i see first and last pic...big difference
