I'm Back!!

The past twelve days have been incredibly intense, busy, and nearly overwhelming. But I have survived AND recovered! Production week (July 9-15) was a whirlwind of rehearsals and performances, with the usual last-minute costume adjustments and crises to address. But the kids did a wonderful job and it was worth all that work. I would love to post a few pictures, but am still debating whether it is appropriate to post pictures of other peoples' children on a social media site without the parents' permission, which I have not sought. So I probably won't post them.

After the final performance and "striking the set", I took home ten loads of laundry, plus some hand wash. It's amazing what can be laundered even with "Dry clean only" or "Spot clean only" or "do not wash" tags on them. If I had paid $400 for a garment, I probably wouldn't attempt that. But if it was donated and may or may not be used again, why not give it a try? So far I haven't ruined anything!

Then I spent most of a day delivering my daughter's hedgehog, frog, and conure to her new apartment, with the help of my son. We took care of her pets for nearly 7 months, and they are all still alive! (@aunt-deb may be amused by that.)

Next came a day of catching up on errands in town, followed by the usual two days of babysitting my granddaughter. Today I tackled the neglected pile of mail and and household bookkeeping. And picked the first respectable round of raspberries, about half a gallon or so. I plan to make a batch of freezer jam tomorrow.

Now I hope to get back into the habit of reading posts on Steemit and doing more freewrites. I left my serial story dangling, and really need to get back to it. As usual, I'm not entirely sure what is going to happen next, myself. It all depends on the prompts. I am looking forward to catching up on others' stories, too!

Sounds like you had a good time with the kids. Lots of work, but always fun to see it all come together. Glad to have you back. 🐓🐓
