Hobo Update: I Quit My Job - brief uplifting energy from a runaway wage slave to you

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Juice, here.

Brothers and sisters and others, I quit my soul-crushing dish-washing job. I couldn't stand to listen to one more toxic employee, scrub one more rotisserie skewer, or spend one more day of my life staring at wilted spinach in a sink.

There's a few things I learned while traveling that enable me to live without fear.

  1. Human's are resourceful as hell. If you need something, you will find it.
  2. I'd rather be homeless than live every day as a wage slave. Your job pays the bills, but your passion is your true work.
  3. "Where there's a will, there's a way" is an effective mantra.

I intend to live unusually to avoid the pitfalls of present day society.

Please remember this, my friends; the most effective way we can change the world is changing ourselves.

Until next time,
Juice is on the loose.

Can I quote you on this? lol -> "I'd rather be homeless than live every day as a wage slave. Your job pays the bills, but your passion is your true work."

Couldn't agree more. Seems like you being here means you're already on the right path to your passion. Even if you need to find some other part time work in the meantime, you can definitely find something more aligned with your passion and life/career goals.

Besides Steemit, what are your plans or next steps? Or is Steemit tied into those? In any case, looking forward to future updates and I have years of experience working various remote jobs (both FT and freelance) so if you ever have questions hit me up! :) Seriously, I mean that.

Hey there, thank you for the kind words! Right now I'm looking towards school, which will take slightly more stability than currently. I'd like to be a scientist of some sort. Chemistry/biology. That ballpark.

That particular quote is something I think about often. It helps me make hard decisions by pointing out that I always have a choice. Remembering that we all have choices to make constantly helps to remind me of some things.

  1. I don't take life too seriously. With that many choices, you're bound to fuck something up eventually. Roll with it. Try not to fuck up too bad, or repeat your fuck ups.
  2. You're never stuck in something awful, but you can choose to stay.

With all this spare time suddenly, I'm enjoying posting. You'll see me around. Thanks again.

Sweet! Sounds like you know what you're doing... to be honest as grateful as I am to have a steady, FT job that lets me travel anywhere, I am a bit jealous of your free time right now! I could easily see myself putting in a couple hours/day on Steemit, a couple hours on some kind of sports/exercise, and then doing whatever I want, making evil plans to take over the world, etc.

Maybe you can make a post on what your typical day consists of now? Idk, just an idea :) Anyway, enjoy!

Hey, i want to help you pay the bills :)
