The columns of weathering are an extraordinary natural monument located in the Republic of Komi. What is it? 7 pillars. Their height is 30-42 m. It is above the nine-story house! Quite a lot, right? Six of them stand side by side on the edge of the cliff, another one is located a little further away. Previously, the columns of weathering were the object of a cult for the Mansi people (to rise to the pillars was considered a sin), so there are many legends about them.
It is believed that once upon a time there were high mountains on this place. However, the weak rocks could not withstand the test by rain, heat, snow, frost, wind and collapsed. Solid sericite-quartzite schists remained standing and still can please the tourist with their beauty.
