I know that the immediate reaction to the year 2017 was one of horror. Let's be honest, much of this was due to Trump-related psychosis. The world was going to hell in a handbasket all because of he of the ridiculous hair. While it is certainly true that Trump has said many things that can cause one to shake their head, he hasn't sent the United States sinking into the ocean as of yet. But alas, this isn't a Trump post.

This is a post to share just some of the good things that happened in 2017. A list of positives that prove that the world is indeed not falling apart in the way so many of the naysayers and doomsayers would have us believe. I am not usually the eternal optimist, nor am I overly pessimistic. I tend to lean towards being a realist. The reality states that while the world has challenges and that has always and will always be the case, but far too often we ignore the positives. So here is some positive news from 2017.

yup, the news is spreading fearmongering amongst the masses. The best way to stop becoming paranoid is to stop reading the news. Period. Unless you are reading crypto news, of course. :D

I used to buy the newspaper every day and watch the news on TV. Now I no longer have cable and no longer buy the newspaper and I don't miss either one.

There is plenty of good things that happen that you will never here of because they just don't provide the shock value that the news uses to get viewers. There are many good things and good people still around but you would never know it if you just watch the news.

I couldn't agree more. The media would be extinct if they only reported good news.
