Hi to you awakened Ones Only,
I have to explain to you all, why I joined the Steemit platform and I have to set my boundaries here and let you know what I expect from those who choose to interact on my blog.
My interests are higher learning and seeking knowledge and my family is very successful and value higher learning. I believe that it is important to develop our minds and it's a good idea to complete higher education or a university degree, or learn from an intelligent mentor, because it allows us to be able to navigate in this world and to be able to distinguish real information from lies and propaganda.
I am very proud to be an Indigenous woman and we have a distinct culture, history, values, customs, traditions,language and laws that protect us from the aggressors who are attempting to eradicate us, in order to steal our land and resources and pillage our Earth, all in the name of greed.
I respond very well to positive interaction and respectful behavior towards me. As Indigenous people, we give respect to everyone and everything and I follow that value. This has gotten us into trouble with the non-Indigenous because when we first made contact with the non-Indigneous, we thought they would be respectful like us, but they weren't and instead lied and manipulated us.
If you choose to interact with me on my blog, please know that I will not tolerate name calling, or derogatory racist comments and anyone quoting those false and inaccurate history books, that serve to perpetuate racism and discrimination against us. If you choose to be negative towards me, know that it will not turn out very good for you and you will have to learn the hard way.
I welcome all kind-hearted, open-minded, intelligent people here and I am grateful that I have met a few of you so far and thank you for your gentleness and uplifting words of encouragement.
There have been those on here that have been antagonizing me and berating me and it made me very angry and I retaliated and I do not like to act in cruel ways.

I am not wishing to debate here, but if you have conflicting views, please state where you get your information from, your educational background and your experience. I am all about learning from others, but I am not going to listen to ignorance based on nothing but lies and propaganda.
It's time for a new day and we must help each other and lift each other up here instead of going against each other.

It's so important to set boundaries and I had to learn how to do this and it took me a long time. I have lots of respect for the Indigenous and i studied Indigenous studies in university and it was very eye opening.
All the lies that have been told are unacceptable and it's sad that many people are unaware of the truth about your culture and way of life. I work with the homeless population and I get to meet so many wonderful and amazing Indigenous people, they are so kind-hearted and good people. I see all the trauma they have experienced and it is heartbreaking. I too have experienced trauma and it really rips your soul out and it's very difficult to recover.
I admire the Indigenous Nations and I love learning about your culture, values, traditions and I love to go to Pow WOW and I went to a SunDance Ceremony and it was such an honor. I can see you're a very strong Indigenous woman and they say it is your generation that will take the lead and you will rise up out of the oppression that you have been subjected to. I hope no-one here is rude and treating you with disrespect. If so, it is because they don't know any better and we can pray for them.
I have met many strong Indigenous people and I can see some great changes taking place. I see you live on the Coast Salish First Nation's Territory and I also live in that area. I'm participating in the support to stop the pipeline and I see that many people are joining that movement.

I just hope she doesn't go around telling people she wants them to die then - that wouldn't reflect well, would it?
If she said things like that - it might show people a different side altogether than the happy clappy image - it could make her look delusional, hateful, racist and sexist....

Thanks for connecting and it's so nice to meet someone who is interested in Indigenous rights and has actually studied this in university. Where did you complete your degree? You're living in my area and that is so cool, I never expected to meet someone here so close.
I'm also involved in the resistance movement and i'm going to a de-colonizing workshop this week taking please on the Katzie First Nation territory.
Thanks for your kind words and support and welcome to this community, I'm new here myself. I just read your blog on shining and thanks for writing that, because it has helped me. The mute is definitely a good option. I do feel somewhat flattered because this user is all about me and is so focussed on me. I have muted him now and I don't associate myself with people operating on his level. I realized the mentality of that person when he said "I was racist against mentally ill people." Does he even know what racism means? It's against different races, as i'm sure you know. lol...I just have to ignore this poor soul. I have to feel empathy instead of anger towards him and it is very trying. Enough with talking about negative things, like you say, we can focus on more positive things.

I can see from your blog posts that you have a lot of important information to share and you are not getting much response from anyone here. I do not see many Indigenous people here or anyone who is interested in Indigenous issues.
It's seems like you are spending so much time writing these posts and perhaps you could focus your energies elsewhere. There is no point in spending your time and energy and not getting much reception from your audience. You do not have the right audience because this is a place not for academic thought or Indigenous issues and you are getting nowhere by sharing your knowledge. Please do not take offense to my opinion and remember it is just my opinion and i'm not trying to tell you what to do here.
I would just like the share some of my thoughts about how you can get your message out to the right people. Have you thought about doing a blog on a website and monitizing it. You can write articles with a keyword search and then you can attract the right audience. How about a Youtube channel? I just don't want to see you get frustrated here and it does not seem like many people here are awakened yet and this is more like a place to play games as you state and write about unimportant issues, just to make money. It appears that you have to appeal to the larger audience of unawakened people to make any significance amount of money. That's how I see it anyways, but don't take my word because I am just new here. I'm not sure how long I will stay around either. It would be so nice to connect with you in person sometime, if you're open to that?
I went to University of British Columbia and I did a major in Sociology and a minor in Anthropology. Although I did not complete an Indigenous studies degree, many of the courses were ones from that program and I was able to use those to complete my degree program. I am so thankful I got to learn about your culture and I want to be part of the Indigenous resurgence movement and supporting you to reclaim your stolen land.

Thank you for your suggestions Jesse and although I can see where you are coming from, I am enjoying my time on this platform. I have met some nice kind people here and I am forming meaningful connections. My goal is not to only make money, but to get my message out, even if it's just for a few people and if only one person reads my information, i'm fine with that.
I believe that this platform can help us get out of the manipulation we are under and I want to find out all about this place and how I can be successful here. I'm know you were well-intentioned with you comments, but I don't see things the way you do and please do not take this the wrong way, but I am not looking to be told about what to do. I'm not saying you are doing that, but your post did not make me feel very positive and it's probably not what you were hoping for I realize.
If guess I might have put it out there when I said i'm not sure if this is the place for me, so I apologize if I gave you the invitation to comment on what I should do.
I'm very sorry, but i'm not comfortable in meeting in person. Please do not take this personal because it is for my own safety and i'm very nervous meeting people I don't know because very awful past experiences I've had with that. I prefer group meetings in a public settings for important causes.
As well, I don't know what you mean when you said this is not the right audience because it's important that people learn the truth about Indigenous History and the reason no-one is engaging is because they do to know the extent of what we have gone through and for many people it is very difficult to accept that they are living on stolen land that was taken by brutal force and attempted genocide. Perhaps people are reading my info, but not liking learning the truth. We have to tell people, so they can realize the type of people who are running the show around here and we can get allies to help us fight this corrupt system.
I hope we can maintain a good relationship on here and to reiterate, I know you were well intentioned and please accept my response as heartfelt and considerate because that is my intention.
