But why, how come?

Analysts say that Germany is the inventor of honeymoon. But in their language Honeymoon has no synonyms. They are under pressure on English or any language to refer to honeymoon. According to the social customs of ancient times, for the one month after the marriage, newly wed couples were kept in a different place, and the new couple was fed to the neighboring sweetheart.
This style spreads among other nations of Europe.

How did 'Honey' and 'Moon' come together... I found three rough interpretations in history.

Firstly, in an explanation, the word 'honeymoon' is the source of the word in Babylon. After the marriage of ancient Babylon, the father of the bride used to give a pot of wine mixed with honey to the groom. The calendar of Babylon was lunar. From there, 'Moon' may have been added. In Babylon the month after the wedding used to be called 'Hani Mantha'. The word 'honeymoon' came from there.

Secondly, it is said in a statement that after marriage, 30 days in a row, drinking wine made from honey was brought to the newlyweds. This custom was followed in the reign of Huna King Attila.

The third explanation is that the word 'Moon' has the addition of the menstrual cycle. The word 'Honey' was added to show that after marriage, everything looks like honey(sweet) but it may not always take place. That is why after the marriage, when the couple spend the time together, is called 'honeymoon'.
