This is one of my favorite stories....
A Professor, teaching stress management, once poured water into a glass and asked her students, "How heavy do you think this glass of water is?".
The students expected a half-full/half-empty question. So they started to shout out answers like, "about 8 ounces, 10 ounces, a pound, etc".
Well, the Professor said, "The actual weight doesn't matter, I would have to literally weigh it on a scale for the exact measurement, but what does matter is how long I hold it for!
1 minute won't be a problem.
After a few minutes I'll probably start to feel a dull ache, but if I hold it for the whole day I will feel paralyzed.
The weight of the water never changed, but the longer I hold on to the water the heavier it feels."
The stresses and worries are like this glass of water.
If you think about them for awhile nothing happens, think about them longer it starts to hurt, and if you think about them all day then you become paralyzed and helpless.
Life is too short to hold onto your problems and let it consume you.
The moral of the story is to put the glass down,.....
