Incentivized Giving Experiment: A Report

On January 18th I initiated an experiment on incentivized giving.

The post received 24 pledges to share their SBD rewards from my upvotes with at least one needy person. Here's a list of Steemians who pledged:

  1. @shweyaungmyanmar
  2. @hrhridoy
  3. @sumonsha
  4. @nahid05
  5. @shencoin
  6. @danielwong
  7. @kellyrose
  8. @mdarifk10
  9. @ilyonse
  10. @mikewilliam
  11. @marygrac
  12. @robrowe
  13. @fastgr0w
  14. @monjan
  15. @darksea
  16. @wanderingdanish
  17. @beyfendi
  18. @haryfelconbb
  19. @hanzade
  20. @sammeth1
  21. @miniklady
  22. @freemanx
  23. @tayab
  24. @denski

At least 4 more Steemians (@denmarkguy, @rahemanali, @bitbulls, @benadam) with some Steem Power joined me in upvoting the pledges resulting SBD rewards as high as $4+. The experiment also inspired at least one steemian to do more for the victims of fire that gutted 30 homes in Cebu City, Philippines.

With 24 pledges (about $3 SBD / pledge average), 112 comments and 382 views, the experiment got a lot more traction than I had imagined. So I have decided to make it a "weekly incentivized giving" activity.

Today the payouts are due. I would love to hear from those who participated in the experiment.

Thank You

Thank you @sharonomics. Today I realized that there is more we can do to help solve the problems of the world if we do it collectively. I will be posting details and pictures too of how the upvote rewards are given to the survivors. Again, many thanks for this noble initiative. God bless you more!

You are welcome dear. Here's another upvote as additional incentive to do the best you can do for the victims.

Thank you Sir @sharonomics. Right now our family is looking for old but reusable things which we can initially add to the cash donation we gave yesterday. I'm still looking for some clothing to give.

@sharonomics I can see that my comment upvote rewards are getting higher as I get more support from you, @rahemanali, @bitbulls, @benadam and other Steemians. With this, I'm going to buy toys for kids and undergarments (these items are usually forgotten during relief operations). I will show it in another post as soon as everything is in place so I can also inspire other Steemians to do the same. Thank you. It is just so overwhelming to know that here I am doing development work again with kind hearted people I personally do not know who wanted to help the world become a better place for humanity. Thank you. 😚

Omg. How beautiful @sharonomics and the other ones who help too ... You know? This reminds me when I went to help the people after the hard arthquake on Mexico City, actually that day I just arrived at the central bus station in Mexico City and suddenly while I was walking to the light rail for go home, I felt the earthquake in the middle of the street in front of the light rail, people were coming from all sides, a tragedy, people shouting and some other paralyzed everywhere and some noises that came from the earth at the time that the buildings collapsed that I had never heard, I thought that the aliens had already arrived. After that, I arrived at my cousins' house, who lived a few blocks from the Rebsamen children's garden, and we went there to bring everything we could: water, brooms, needles, alcohol and cotton, ice ... But we did it. It did not take long for get night, by the way we had to return walking because since that happened there was no light or services anywhere, the traffic was frozen, the cars did not advance were parked at the middle of the streets. Our help in the moment had been little but it was all we could offer at the time, after that we still doing it for those who in need.

@sharonomics Today I got the names of the 39 children aged 4 months to 12 years old who lost their homes because I want the rewards to go to the right recipients. I'm documenting everything in this experiment to let other Steemians see and appreciate the beauty of upvoting for a cause. I will try to finish the work tomorrow so I can post the results not later than Sunday. I want others to also share what they have done with their rewards. Together let's make this world a happy place for everyone.😊

Beautiful!!! thx so much for your support

Thank you @ormus... and thanks to your upvote too. Let's help the needy while we still can. 😊

ROLF @BITBULLS

I’m glad you noticed the post of my cousin @denski 😊 I tried to participate but I didn’t make it on time. I will join this week.

Keep sharing!

Hi @iwanderela! Please help me encash the rewards so I can give it to the survivors. Thanks 😊

Sure, you have to wait 7 days for the payout before you can encash it.

I will join this week.

Promise is a word that has a deep meaning, because the promise is one benchmark assessment of how much the person can be trusted. There are pearl words that say "promise is a debt to be paid". The word is not an ordinary adage or proverb, more than that, the true meaning contained in the word is that the promise is the same as we owe it, there is a right of someone in it that we have to pay.

Much better not to promise anything and try to give everything the best. than promising everything but giving nothing. @sharonomics
